Q: Why must you be careful of tea at night?
A: Because it might mug you!
We hope that the joke put a smile on your face! If not, try drinking some of our teas to help you appreciate that tea joke! Both of our teas include three common ingredients: green tea, lemongrass, and peppermint. These three ingredients compliment the other natural herbs within our teas. This heral trifecta (green tea, lemongrass, and peppermint) contain healing properties that help keep you happy and healthy!
Green Tea: Green tea contains plenty of polyphenols which function as powerful antioxidants that help protect your cells from damage. Green tea contains an amino acid called L-theanine, which increases the activity of GABA (an inhibitory neurotransmitter) which helps decrease anxiety. L-theanine also increases dopamine and the production of alpha waves in the brain. Making you a bit happier with every sip! Not only is green tea beneficial to the brain, but also the body through boosting metabolic rates and improving physical performance.
Lemongrass: Lemongrass reflects many of the same benefits as green tea. Like green tea, it is full of antioxidants and helps boost metabolism and burn fat. It has also been known to help digestion through a component called “citral”. It has often been used in Chinese medicine to remedy stomach problems like bloating, constipation, and indigestion. The rich amount of potassium in lemongrass also helps regulate high blood pressure through an increase in blood circulation which helps purify the liver. While the potassium helps purify your body on the inside, Vitamin A and Vitamin C help provide nutrients to keep your skin and hair healthy.
Peppermint: Peppermint, like our two other ingredients help keep you at your prime. It has been in many ages past (archaeological evidence dates back as far as 10,000 years ago) as a dietary supplement to aid in digestive and gastrointestinal conditions. Peppermint helps move gas through the body as it accumulates, preventing bloating, cramping, and other stomach discomforts. It also helps relax muscles in the throat and chest, decreasing symptoms of cold and flu. While peppermint can help reduce symptoms of the cold and flu, it also acts as a preventative measure towards illness with antibacterial properties that cause various illnesses.
So next time you feel that tickle in your throat grab a cup of our tea and relax, knowing that our trifecta of ingredients are fighting for your health and happiness! We hope you were able to gain new insight on these healing ingredients and maybe even gain inspiration to use these ingredients in your own recipes!
